THE MECHANICS OF SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY ECONOMICS

The Mechanics of successful community economics is simply a situation where the goods and services consumed by community residents are sold to the community by community based businesses.

The Kiinte Center theory is if the community purchases it then the community can sell it: to themselves thus creating viable community  economics and creating the all important jobs.

According to Demographics Now’s Consumer Expenditure Summary Report for 2009, the area at 55th Avenue east to the Oakland-San Leandro border which we refer to as Oakland’s “CityEast” community, spends $2,485,604,766.78; almost 2 ½ billion dollars annually on goods and services consumed by residents of the area. Even if most of these goods and services were provided by area businesses there would be plenty of jobs for the area.

The Kinte Center’s Job Creation strategy is to put area consumer expenditures to work to create jobs through area community based businesses. We have developed a List of Job Creating Projects to accomplish this. To study this list click on Job Creating Projects on home page at this website.
